Wall Street - You've Been BORKED!

Gotta send a shot out to all the demonstrators out there in New York and across the country who are protesting against the GREED and CORRUPTION perpetuated by American companies who have torn our great country down to the brink of devastation.

Props to OccupyWallStreet.org and the99percent.org for giving "the people" a voice - and "shame, shame, shame" to the police and other pawns of the City Government who don't recognize who they are supposed to be "serving and protecting".

Corporations are NOT people - they don't have a conscience and they don't have to live with the consequences of their actions. To the degree that they represent the INTERESTS of people, they are not the interests of the many, but represent only the greed and insatiable consumption reserved for the powerful and wealthy...

... and they are NOT American Citizens - they are international conglomerates that leach OUR money out of the system and into their foreign bank accounts while paying as little taxes as possible.

Our government is NOT representative of "the people" when profit-driven corporations manipulate our laws, legal system, and politics with the single-minded ambition to make money with no regard to the impact their business ethics have on the communities that "the people" live their lives in.

Health Care? Should never be left to bean-counters who never have to face the real hardship faced by families who cannot afford health insurance. When you have drugs that are effective but are not manufactured simply because their patent-owning parent companies do not find the profitable to manufacture, we clearly have a problem.

Prison Systems? Should not be competing for labor and then unfairly pricing out this labor to companies with close government ties.

Education? Is the future of our country and we've been robbed of our countries intellectual capital by politicians and unions that refuse to address the need for this to be a critical priority for our country.

Social Security? Well, it would be a good start to alleviate the health care costs for the elderly, after that, we have to find a sustainable source of revenue to fund these programs.

Taxes? The most obvious source of missing revenue over the past 10 years is due to the Bush Tax Cuts. The money we use belongs to "the people" - we should all pay the same tax rates on the money we make from the economy we participate in.

It's time for a change - hoorah for the proud Americans who are standing up for "We the People" to take back our country.

Let's carry this banner into the 2012 elections and make our voices heard.

We are the People. We are Americans. And we ARE the government.

Let's take it back.

To Wall Street and the rest of the corporate goons who have hijacked our government, you've been Borked!

And I hope to God your days are numbered.

Music Industry - You've been Borked by Amazon

Ever since Napster turned millions of music consumers into criminal theives, the music industry has kept a close watch on any attempts made by web-based services that stream unlicensed content to their user base, typically using their formidable legal resources to snuff out even the slightest signs of improper use of their coveted copyrights.

Well now Amazon has shaken the music industry with it's new Cloud Drive and Cloud Player services - which allow users to host their image, document, and of course, music files (up to 5GB for free) on Amazon's servers and access those files through a browser-based player (there's also and Android app - doubt we'll see one for iPhone).

Of course, this has the ARP lawyering up claiming that Amazon is essentially streaming this content to users without permission - but Amazon is not running some college dorm room startup here, and the legal battle could get intense.

As for the Big B - I don't like the music industry - at least not the suits that control how we consume product from the original suppliers; that is to say, how we listen to artist's music.  The idea that recording companies should be entitled to billions in profits each year for a product that no longer requires any kind of physical distribution is absurd, and even as the internet and mobile technology demonstrated fundamental shifts in consumer behabiour, the recording industry did everything it can to drag its feet in embracing new technologies in trying to retain their stranglehold on the industry.

Rather than recognize that they have themselves to blame for not innovating such conveniences for customers over the past decade, the ARP and RIAA are going to try to stifle yet another technology that brings convenience to consumers, but this time they will face any uphill battle against a legitimate rival in Bezos and his own legal army.

My bets are on Amazon.

Music Industry...

... you've been Borked.
